NEBSA Mentoring Program

Mentoring Program Details

In order to help new and experienced biosafety professionals address individual development goals, NEBSA is offering a peer mentoring program beginning in fall 2019.  NEBSA members may apply to be a mentor and/or a mentee. This program is open to NEBSA members only at this time.

The program will work in the following manner:

July-August 2019
NEBSA will solicit volunteers to serve as mentors, and collect information about prospective mentees.
  • Mentors will agree to be available for approximately 1-2 meetings per month (in person or via tele- or video conference) with their mentee over the course of the mentoring period (Sept 2019- March 2020).
  • Mentees will apply to the program, and provide a brief profile of themselves. It is expected that the mentee will arrange meetings with their mentor.
Sept. 2019
NEBSA Board will match mentors with mentees.
Mentor / mentee matches will be announced and the Mentoring Program kicks off.  Mentees and Mentors encouraged to touch base at NEBSA Symposium.
Sept. 2019-Mar. 2020
Mentees and Mentors will meet monthly (some one-on-one meetings and some teleconference group meetings of all mentors / mentees).
Mar. 2020
Mentoring program closes.
